TST-KE Admissions

Due to the fact that the TST-KE is accredited by academic institutions in the Western world, students in the TST-KE must follow the same admissions process as students on the Talbot main campus. This is a long process with many steps that must be completed well in advance in order for a potential student to be ready in time for the start of a semester. If you are interested in studying with us, please look at the admissions requirements page and see if you think you might qualify. If you think you do, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. And please don’t hesitate to begin the admissions process immediately. The TST-KE accepts approximately 20 students every 2 years with the next group beginning studies in the fall of 2011. The application deadline for admission to that group is February 1, 2011.

Steps to Apply

  • Step One: Initial Application – You can download this one-page document from the website, complete it and email it back to us, or you can simply call us and we can ask you the questions over the phone. This first step gives us a general introduction to who you are and why you want to study at Talbot.
  • Step Two: Full Application – You can also download this document from the website, you can pick up a printed copy in person from the academic office at KTS or you can request that we mail it to you. This is the official application that will be forwarded to the California campus for review. This application must be mailed to KTS or presented in person to the Academic or Talbot office. Accompanying this application should be 3 reference forms (pastor, employer, friend), all previous academic transcripts and diplomas and a one-page essay about your vocational objectives, i.e., what you plan to do once you receive a Talbot degree.
  • Step Three: English Exam and Interview – Several times before the start of the next group the TST-KE will hold an English exam and interview day on the KTS campus. All applicants must take and pass a 3-hour exam and participate in a 20-30 minute interview with members of the TST-KE staff. Ideally, all documents mentioned in step two will have been submitted before the English exam and interview day.
  • Step Four: Upon completion of all of the above steps, the appropriate documents will be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions of Biola University for official review and final decision. Once a decision has been reached that office will notify you of acceptance or rejection by mail. In the event that the acceptance/rejection letter never reaches you, you may contact the TST-KE office about the decision by phone, email or in person and we will notify you of the decision.
